What kind of fish is this?

What kind of catfish do you have there? I used to catch channel cats on spinners and I've heard of people fly-fishing for them. I think the stinky stuff is for blue(?) catfish. I never caught one of those.

channel cats..........the ones ive caught i was floating a minnow about a foot off the bottom trying to catch walleyes or saugers........ive only caught a couple this way in the last 15 or more years so i doubt its the ideal set up.............

not as big as it looks do to some trick photography but still a pretty big alligator gar

I like gar, they are neat-looking fish.

Of course i would like them even better if they tasted good too!
