Some pollinators

took some pics of some bees this morning.
first time getting any good pics of an insect with my camera.

the first two pictures are of syrphid flies, (Metasyrphus americanus?) not bees. Bee mimics.

The green bee is a sweat bee. One of my favorite bees.



Great photos. That must be hard to get such great pictures of such small bugs on the spiderwort. Spiderwort floweres themselves are not all that big, either, so, wow.
 
Are you sure they are syrphid flies? They look more like drone flies in the picture to me.
Thoughts on this?
 
ok, those look like the other ones, now I believe you!
 
They're ddefinitely flies - only single wings.
 
the green one isn't a fly, it has pollen collection sacks on it's legs
