Palin Running For President

Sarah Palin in a recent interview expressed support for an amendment to the U.S. constitution to ban gay marriage. The only problem is that John McCain once described this position as “antithetical in every way to the core philosophy of Republicans.” McCain has repeatedly said he is a federalist and prefers each state to make their own decision on the issue of gay marriage. No wonder the McCain campaign doesn’t want Palin to give interviews. (Palin has also disagreed with McCain on drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, global warming, cross-border raids into Pakistan, and whether abortion should be permitted in cases of rap_ and incest.) Palin is drawing bigger crowds than McCain, and it seems like she is throwing McCain under the bus, setting the stage for a run for president in 2012. Democrats hope she succeeds.

Dont scare me like that with the topic title!

Anyways, two people having differences in opinion? Hardly new. Of course two people will rarely agree on everything…
I do not like her views on things, do not like her, but this is a stretch.

*yawn*..

I can make up stuff too..lets see..

I heard OJ simpson is going to run for president!
and did you hear that Joe Biden uses regular incandescent lightbulbs??

shocking news!

Palin Accused of Keeping Kids' Football

Police in Alaska say Palin is facing a charge of petty theft because neighborhood children accused her of refusing to give back their football.

How many people would beleive that if I made it a forewarded email? Humm...
It is really sad, but some people would take that seriously. LOL

You want to talk about disagreements, how about this one?:

Joe Biden doesn't think Obama is ready to be President.

Barack Obama Kicks Puppies!

I read about it on the internet so it must be true!

man..I cant vote for someone who is in favor of puppy kicking..
thats just wrong..

Its the anti-puppy kicking ideals of our fore-fathers that made this country great!
If you want to advocate a pro-puppy kicking agenda, go ahead and vote for Obama..
but I dont know how you can live with yourself..

lol Awwwww. :)

I have NO doubt Sara Palin will run for President in the future. I don't really think she had that aspiration...until she got a taste of the roaring throngs shouting 'Hockey Moms!" and "Joe Six-pack!: *wink wink*

I don't think the Republican ticket will win this go 'round...McCain is more than likely done. But Palin will work on grooming herself for another go at it. And hey, if she can acquire the knowledge and experience to do so, go for it. I wouldn't vote for her. lol I do not find her folksy manner endearing for a VP or Pres any more than I found Bush's stumbling "Bushisms" a good representation of President of the United States. But then again, I am not The Decider of this election. :-))

I'm just glad I'll get to have my vote.

Anyone want to bet on whether there will be voting machine issues and challenges to results?

To create a semblance of harmony between the Republican running mates, perhaps McCain should change his positions and agree with Palin. Maybe there are just too many mavericks on that team.

By the way, does anyone think that Palin does NOT want to run for president in 2012? And does anyone who thinks she wants to run in 2012 also think that it is irrelevant in the 2008 election?

You know if the "scary unamerican black man" wins the Republicans are gonna sue for a recount in every battleground state, they already began with the ACORN thing, you honestly think it'll stop there? :-))
I don't. I propose we'll be waxing nostalgic about the 2000 recounts.
I can also see McCain and Plain refusing to conceede and proclaiming themselves the winners of the election in the "real" America. Did you know if you live in a town bigger than 10,000 people you're not a "real" American? I was a "real" American until my town got bigger a few years back, now all of a sudden cos of those yuppies moving out here, raising my property value, I'm a damn commie! I wouldn't mind having Michele Bachmann working my subversive body over, I'd still holler rap3 though - but then Palin would make me pay for my own rap3 test kit!! ;)

Female Pat Robertson for prez 2012! You wanna talk "crazy churches", stop in to an apocalyptic evangelical church if you like a welcome basket full of paranoid delusions peppered with bible passages. I mean a church which is overtly political and talks endlessly about the end times, Israel and war. . Around here we've got several of them, this is the type of church Palin grew up in and the type I escaped from at the earliest opportunity! I've been fleeing Jesus' people at every turn ever since! lol!. It would be just like living in Iran only with a christian caliphate instead of a muslim one. Robertson himself didn't do well back in the 1980s the times he ran. Proof of our nations godless subversives, of course, of course!

I can see some bumper stickers already, "If the end times don't come by 2014 - she'll get them started!", "All Your Apocalypse Fantasies Come True!" or "The Rapture Guaranteed by 2016!"
What a sloganmeister - think she'll hire me for the big run? It would at least keep me offa that nasty ol' welfare where I might learn to become a gay communist who'll sneak into your house and abort your baby late one night without your consent. ;)

Isnt it obvious that McCain picked her BECAUSE of her more "radical" views?
im sure he was well aware that all her views didnt perfectly mesh with his..he probably considers that a huge plus!

McCains liberal conservative views + Palins conservative conservative views = more votes for the ticket.

Vice president running mates are always picked for these qualities, on both sides...qualities that will give the ticket the largest possible range of support and the largest possible number of votes..

Its not just a coincidence that Biden is an "old white guy who has been in Washington forever and is NOT all about change and is exactly the same as every other Washington insider of the last 230 years"..

the very qualities Obama says we no longer need, Biden typifies...why the apparent conflict?? to get the most votes..to appeal to the widest possible base.
these things are very carefully planned..

>You know if the "scary unamerican black man" wins...>

I don't think his ethnicity, or half of it, is the issue for most people. Granted, there will be some who don't like him for that. However, even supposed unbiased media has reported than many liberals think he's too radical.

i would agree with the support for it, in any conservative Christian church. Liberal churches totally dont give a damn about gay marriage.

At least not openly / overtly. Sadly, there are many in the US who cannot see beyond his skin color .....

However, even supposed unbiased media has reported than many liberals think he's too radical.
... and where might I go to find this 'unbiased media'? :0o: :poke:

LOL That's why I said, "supposed" unbiassed. I don't remember where it was. I think another member posted the link in another thread.

I honestly think he's been getting far more centrist, out of necessity. I was more "pro-Obama" in the beginning when his ideas were more "radical". Party Liberals are not Libertines, Liberals are just as robotized as party republicans, they just adhere to different dogmas. I myself only adhere to catmas! :)
I'm now more essentially, anti-Palin but what's left of Obi's ideas after being eaten by the democrat idea grinder I still agree with, but they aren't nearly as "radical" or go as far as I'd like ideally.

What's a liberal church? Why, THAT's surely not a "real" church in "real" America! ;)

McCain picked Palin because of her ultra conservative views, and she has succeeded in energizing that wing of the party. At the same time, however, she has alienated many moderate Republicans who are not able to imagine merging the concepts of "Sarah Palin" and "President," should anything happen to McCain. The Republican stable is so devoid of potential presidential candidates that Palin may emerge as its nominee in 2012. If that happens and she retains her current view of the world, many Republicans would become Democrats.

That's not a puppy! And he only kicked it in self-defense, that's his constitutional right!

There is no such thing as "unbiased media." :p

At least not openly / overtly. Sadly, there are many in the US who cannot see beyond his skin color .....

It's really quite simple. If someone disagrees with Obama or doesn't support Obama, they're racist, at least in the liberal viewpoint. If Obama loses the election, it will also be because of race/racism NOT because of his substance or positions.

Many examples of this have come up, like from John Lewis: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/11/AR2008101102216.html

And now most recently from a Kansas City Star article:
http://voices.kansascity.com/node/2493

Did you guys know that it's an old code word for black to call someone a socialist?

The fact is Obama and Biden have made some startling comments, which they cannot hide from. The only way to defend themselves now is to pull out the race card.

Just for the record, if there was a Black Republican running in the primaries last year, that had similar viewpoints to McCain, I would have picked him over McCain. I understand why loads of people are excited about Obama, from a historical perspective. I too would love to put a minority in the White house and make history, if their positions and views matched with mine. OBAMA DOES NOT FIT THE MOLD. It's not because he's only 50% Black. It's not because the 50% Black he is, comes from Kenya. It's because of his substance and his positions! It's because his beliefs of what is best for this country clash and are counter to my beliefs. That HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE REASON.

Another thing I don't get about the race argument is if I'm some racist bigot, then why in 2004 did I vote for Bush over Kerry? Both are "White" correct? It's just nonsense. To be honest from my experience I have found racism coming from the other direction. I was in one of the main walkways of my Campus the other day for a bake sale and an Obama supporter (also the President of Student Organizations) was spouting the most ridiculous comments, (paraphrasing here): "I'd gather all the Christians into a room and drown them". "Those white people must be embarrassed of McCain after that debate".

I'm seriously thinking about doing a documentary at my school on the craziness of Obama followers.

Lastly I want to ask why is it that violence related to this Presidential contest stems from Obama supporters? There have been several stories on the news where people with McCain/Palin or NOBAMA bumper stickers/yard signs, have had their car or properties vandalized.
