Is ready to take this hobby to a whole new level
A week and a half ago I had the opportunity to take a trip to Triangle Lake Bog. I live just west of Cleveland, Ohio, about 45 minutes away from Kent and Ravenna, Ohio. That area is home to some of Ohio's best examples of a kettle bog, and also home to some of Ohio's CPs. 2 weeks ago I took a trip to Kent Bog, a nice kettle bog, but one that is further along in its development and no longer has any open water. I was unable to find any CP's here, but had an excellent time nevertheless.

Triangle Lake Bog is in Ravenna Ohio, just 5 minutes from Kent Bog. I was able to find CPs at every glance at this wonderful bog, and even had a horribly intense interaction with some poison sumac (needless to say, I'm still incredibly itchy.) Anyhow, I thought I would share some of my photos with you. At Triangle Lake, I not only saw some great bog plants, lots of live sphagnum, hundreds of Sarracenia Purpurea, and several Drosera Rotundifolia. Although I took hundreds of photos, I have selected a few of the best to display here. Feel free to ask, and I shall put up some others.
Here's the lake at the center of the kettle bog. Eventually it will be filled in with bog plants, similar to the Kent bog.

I was unable to take any excellent photos of drosera, but here is a small bunch of D. Rotundifolia. The drosera were easily found near the water. There were fewer of them the further you moved away from the lake.

Here are some of my better photos of large clumps of S. purpurea, as well as some nice S. purpurea flowers.

Hope you enjoyed the photos. I'm looking forward to your comments. I was extremely fortunate to be able to experience CPs in the wild, especially so close to home. I was extremely unfortunate to experience the wrath of poison sumac.
