YOU! Outta my gene pool!
What visitors saw when they first entered the greenhouse where the show was and some of Quogue's awesome CP photography hanging in the background:
Jeff's amazing S. leucophylla Hurricane Creek. Love that LFS:
I would not have stood a chance if Jeffalotus had entered any Cephs. My heli in the background. I saw the heli's tag on a different plant in another photo after I got home.
Quogue sure knows how to make you drool. That's why there was a towel under it:
The NECPS permanent carnivorous plant bog display in the conservatory before we restore it:

wow nice , thanks for those great pics. Bill when your say before we restore it , was it a planted bog before?
Yes, it was beautiful before and it had some nice Sarrs, was covered with Cape Sundews & Venus Flytraps. It had a giant tree stump from a Dawn Redwood with some really nice scrambling nepenthes, some with foot long pitchers. I will try to find a picture. It was one of the largest draws at the Botanical Center.
Many of us have donated plants for it. Quogue donated some stunners at this year's show. I had donated a huge N. bical in a 3 gallon pot years ago, but I don't know what happened to it. Our president John Phillip had it at his house for a while because at the time we couldn't count on the help at the park to water things correctlly.
We had anticipated having the public helps us re plant the bog at the show, but it wasn't ready. The soil had not absorbed enough of the water in time.
Anyone else have pictures of the bog?
Hey Jimmy,
Yeah - we planted it, what, two years ago? It looked fantastic for a while - then apparently there were some drainage problems or something, and the plant health went downhill. The NECPS is going to re-plant the bog (I doubt I'll be able to make that meetingIt was really fun the first time) now that the drainage issues have been fixed and the soil "refreshed."
