Thanks I'll try to get better pics of plants today :-D

Nice plants! Man, anything with campanulata in it just gets dominated by its genes.

What is the Theobroma cacoa? Is that a cocoa plant? Or a close relative?

  • #45
I just *love* the shape of campanulata and I'm glad people are mixing colorful things with their female campys because it's the plants that I absolutely want :p

Theobroma cacao is the plant that makes cocoa pods that get fermented and made into chocolate :-D

Here's more! It isn't sunny out, but ... oh well, maybe some of the pics are fuzzier than usual.

This thing gets BIG fast!

Everything's looking quite lovely despite the weather, Zu :3
That vent cross is especially purty, and that Luteola is glowing!!
Great job! :D

All you're plants look great! I love your cute little Darlingtonia so much. It reminds me of the one I had years ago that I killed. I wish I could find another so badly. :(

  • #52
Thanks... wish I could help you finding one, I can't see any right now for sale either :-(

Here's more plants I got today!! Sorry the pics are blurry but it's overcast again .

It's two more ((vietchiiXmaxima)Xveitchii)Xcampanulata because I love it so much --

PA210009.jpg

...here's the one I already have, it looks worse in the leaves because my plants grow super dry and hard..
PA210015.jpg

And here's some pitchers on one of the new ones:
PA210013.jpg

They just got repotted too because the place sends plants in pots 2-3 sizes too small, which is actually kind of great :p

Very nice plants there, and at such a great size.

  • #55
Yeah, they're great! Considering their size and that campy hybrids tend to basal a lot, I found it strange that they don't have basals though. I guess maybe because it's got so much veitchii in there ???

  • #56
That could be, Eventually they will basal out like crazy in like the next couple to few years.

  • #57
Oh, and here's my beastly platychila...
Much more 'robust' than I expected - I thought they were more 'dainty' and less like maxima. Any pitcher shots?

I think you better start planning to get a bigger place. Once some of your younger neps get some growing going, there won't be any room for you in there ... :-O

Just the old pitcher that's half brown round the rim now...I think there's some talk about some platies on the market actually being platyXfusca or something (sort of like there are questions about a lot of eymaes...), but hopefully I've got the real deal :p

Here's a picture of said pitcher anyway:
PA220047.jpg

and here's nothing to go on for a pitcher that's just forming:
PA220032.jpg

And I know...OMG I don't know what I'm going to do when they grow up and out!
