Hello All,
Recently I had the pleasure of showing Stewart McPherson some CP sites in the Fl. Panhandle, including the famous Tate's Hell Preserve, known for it's outstanding Sarracenia leucophylla colonies. Here's a few photos to wet your whistle... ; ) More to follow, along with a new HD video of the adventure!
Here's Peucetia viridans aka. the Green Lynx spider enjoying a large bee it captured while hiding just below the pitcher rim. Interestingly, each Sarracenia colony had it's own resident spider.
Here's a lovely mantid robbing a pitcher of it's contents through a nicely made entrance in the pitcher's side.
Some ants enjoying their nectar feast on S. flava var. atropurpurea. Note the extra wide tent-shaped lid.
Here's Stew taking a few shots of a gorgeous colony of S. rubra gulfensis that Randy Zerr was kind enough to show us. Thanks again, Randy!
Stay tuned, more adventure to follow.
Happy Growing,
Brian
