I visited the green swamp once, a few decades ago. It was amazing, inspiring, and depressing. Amazing for what still exists there in the area officially preserved. Many wild VFT, Sarracenia, Drosera, and Pinguicula along with the other interesting co-inhabitants of the area. Inspiring because it seems like it may, quite possibly be a long-term success at preserving a small part of the amazing ecology represented there. Depressing; because the area identified on my Geological Survey map as green swamp was what I drove through for about six hours (up and down, back and forth, through mile after mile of silviculture plots planted to assorted tree species/varieties, each surrounded by deep drainage ditches - I once came upon a plot that had been recently harvested and in the center of the plot, recently denuded of trees was a solitary plant of Sarracenia flava) before I finally came upon the portion of green swamp still inhabited by CP. Perhaps I am mistaken about the silviculture plots being former green swamp territory. I hope I am mistaken.
