However, I suspect Raymond will not be able to change his parent's minds - especially if they've had a very traumatic experience with ID theft.
My parents never had any identity theft, what likely happened is that my mom's coworker got identity theft during the peak years in the mid 2000's. Then she read many articles about how identity theft is getting worse and worse and lost interest in the issue before identity theft declined. Now all she knows is some outdated information which scares her away form online mom and pop stores.
