Nice!! I love the little terrarium :)

I love your tube terrarium. I've got some U. longifolia coming and I've got some extra D. adelae. I may copy you.

  • #403
thanks guys.. I totally see it getting over run within like 6 months, its a pretty small tube.. But yeah I think it looks good with the tall longifolia in it. :)

  • #404
Love the hurricane with the longifolia. That's gonna look awesome once it grows in.

  • #405
That is so cool! If someone gave me that I would be so happy.

Went and shot some quick photos outside this morning...

As requested, a couple photos of my rotundiflora waking up.. They're adapting to outside currently.. Just moved them out of the shade a smidge and more into some direct light.

And something different.. I decided to do a little experiment last fall, and leave out two pots of D. aliciae.. I brought in all the others, ended up giving most of them away and kept one pot. These two outdoor pots spent the winter unsheltered amongst my sarrs, burried by snow and ice periodically through-out the winter and totally exposed to the elements.. I kept tabs on their progress and as of last week, they are showing new growth and dew. Pretty cool I thought. Now the ones indoors are like.. 5 times this size and look much better, but cool to know this species can survive the winter outside here.

Sweeet flower! Amost there!! I've seen a flower bud swelling on my dalringtonia for the past two weeks now.. they are so slow, but well worth the wait me thinks! I did something similar with a couple dews this winter.. left out D. spatulata, D. binata, D. rotundifolia, all survived the winter here and are putting out new leaves like crazy this past week.

Love that glass cylinder with the Utric in it.. what an awesome gift!

Edit: new pics are rad.. the June Bug growth is adorable

Wait till your S. 'Judith Hindle' Gets to about three years old. You are going to need a laundry basket to plant it in. Year five: her own bath tub!

Very nice sarrs brie! Looking forward to future pics when they've reached full potential!

  • #412
Great looking plants Brie! Also facinating to see how cold hardy aliceae can be.

  • #413
Beautifull as always Brie!!! You would be proud of me, I finally got my first sarr!:)

  • #414
Man, so jealous, I wish my Darlingtonia hadn't died. :(

  • #415
holy crap that droso is growing fast. When is your "break" over anyways?

  • #416
Thanks guys.. Yeah Im SUPER excited for this growing season, get to see these puppies in all their glory.. Guess thats one thing that sucks about getting sarrs in the fall/winter while they're dormant lol..

Travis, i think it was the 27th?

  • #417
Very nice plants Brie! Cant wait to see your sarrs with pitchers.

  • #418
Nice photos. One of my Flavas is putting up weird twisted growth too, kinda weird. Can't wait to see your plants when they have pitchers.

So, im apparently cursed this month.. so far, I have killed(or nearly killed, we'll see) my big gorgeous graomo, and I over fertilized my epic broadleaf capensis and killed it... The graomo was still in its little tiny solo cup, and I had cut some PVC pots, so it was time to repot it.. but it the LFS in combination with its root being so spiraled up on the bottom of the cup, caused alot of suction/grip in the cup.. so when I reached in, tried to grab as much moss around the plant as I could and wiggled it a little bit.. I felt the pop.. and off fell the plant. Snapped off its only, big thick root. *sigh* So far, it looks like its sort of holding on.. its cupped on some very wet media, and im hoping beyond hope that it sprouts another root soon. Arg. And as for my awesome cape, I apparently soaked it in MaxSea one too many times.. Must of forgotten the last time I sprayed it and sprayed it again.. next morning, shrivelled black mess. So I chopped the top off the "tree" and am hoping it comes back from the roots. *beats head on wall*

In some GOOD news.. looks like i'll be seeing a heli flower finally, since the Tequila flower never quite made it to blooming. This pulchella flower is looking promising.
