Whoaaa.. dang! That's some really nice greenhouse!

oh and that vent x TM

I regularly tape up broken flower stems and pitchers (at the base). I'd say the success rate is 80-85%. It depends a lot on the severity of the break and how soon you apply the splint/bandage. A bit of plastic drinking straw slit lengthwise and slipped over the stalk makes a good splint when needed. Hold in place with tape.

Great collection, thanks for sharing.

I'd say the success rate is 80-85%.

Heres a pic of the flower. The ovary has gotten bigger and the petals are no longer floppy.
<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0111.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0111.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This storage tank is for the nepenthes greenhouse. A 150 gpd system will fill the tank up at night and keep the system toped off on low flow days. If one day is a hot spell, the 33 gallon tank will still be able to supply water all day. All I need now is the pressure shutoff valve and a float valve to maintain the water level.
<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0110.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0110.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

New arrivals: Drosera I got from a trade (thanks Brie!) Cant recall the name now but it will come to me. Anyway they are recovering from the shock.
<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0112.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0112.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Went into the greenhouse and smelled a horrid smell: my nepenthes has flowered
The good thing is the pollen can last up to a year which gives my female some time to put out a flower.

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0120.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0120.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

My RO system should be fired up in a few days.

Finally, after years of intense work and failed attempts, I have finally put an end to all the sediment that builds up on my plants. I connected the incoming water to an RO system and connected the RO system to a trash can storage tank. I was originally gonna connect the solenoid valve to the bottom of the tank, but there wasn't enough pressure to power the misters. I got an industrial pump to power the misters from above...and success!:boogie: The misters might need to be replaced from sodium buildup, but so far so good. The RO system produces more water than the misters use. Heres the whole setup:

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0135.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0135.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Heres the RO system

Heres the shutoff valve for the RO system drilled into the storage tank

Possible nep seedling popped up while I was away...can anyone confirm or deny this? There originally was a discarded nepenthes seed shell around the base of it... but my horrible tweezer moving skills ripped it off.

Looks like the "villosa" seeds arrived today...

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0019.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0019.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Sadly the guy that sent them to me completely lied about their orgin  ...now all I can do is try and germinate them.

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0020.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0020.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I split the seeds into 3 groups...2 going to TC labs(thanks Bigbella and Heli!), and one staying with me.
Here they are in their best media of 80% washed perlite 20% washed spagnum (villosa love perlite)

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0022-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0022-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Here the batch is placed in the garage grow box with a plastic cover over top to reduce heat and provide filtered light with a drop to 50 degrees at night. Now all I am waiting for is a reptifogger to make the night time fog cover. Hopefully they germinate!
