Wire Man

Sphagnum Guru
Here's my 18" pot. This photo was taken on 7-6-11. I'll have more photos soon. The pot has filled in quite nicely.

Lookin good!

Nice start! Just wait till next year.

It already looks better. That photo was from early July! Everything is 3x the size it is in this photo.

Great! It will certainly look even better next year!

I like the individual photos, very nice!

Slug in venus flytrap =

Thanks! The low lying flytrap caught another slug by the face....

I don't know what kind of weather conditions we've been having for the past week, but everything has grown by leaps and bounds.

S. alabamensis ssp. wherryi, not looking too good. I transplanted it to one of my pots to see if it makes a difference.

And an unknown hybrid that came in the trade. No idea what it is, but it's interesting.

Kalanchoe. Not carnivorous, but still cool. It's really taken off to being grown outside.

Great pics, dude!

Thanks! I wish I could keep my potted plants in front of my apartment, but I don't want my neighbors' kids messing with the flytraps all the time. I'm going through Sarracenia withdrawal! Luckily a friend of mine is looking after them, and she only lives 2 miles away. The purp in the 18" pot is getting huge!

The plants are looking great wire.. and every time I see someones bog it makes me want to build one of my own

  • #13
That's why my dad built that one. Yup, not my idea, but his. The new Neps are already growing new leaves, and the smilesii is inflating a new pitcher!

  • #14
Glad to hear that the new plants hit the ground running....

  • #15
I surprised they adjusted so quickly. It usually take months for them to acclimate and decide to grow again. Your Haworthia is on its way.

I have a few more plants coming in soon. The drainage issue with the bog garden has been fixed, too. The plants are growing non-deformed leaves now!

  • #16
Very cool

Nice to see things coming along

  • #17
Thanks! They're coming along nicely. I need to check my potted natives this weekend. I have a feeling the purp is going to need a pot to itself soon.

  • #18
Beautiful plants Wireman!

  • #19
Thanks! I'm lucky to live where I do. Climate is essential to growing CPs. I have a few new ones on the way.

  • #20
The N. smilesii is growing a basal already..... I haven't been able to get it to Meadowview due to working Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens. Also, U. graminifolia is sending up a flower. Thanks Mass! I'll try to get pics when possible.
