What setting do you keep your F stop at normally? For most of the photos it was at 5 but for the N. veitchii it was at 14. I tried to go higher but it was being difficult.

More pictures!

Focus on these pics is not perfect, but I took them in the dark.

Two pots of U. longifolia, the moss in these pots is crazy:

Beautiful plants, oh and I think there will be a few dews in my terrarium!

  • #44
Great! They are very easy to grow if you have good lighting, a lot easier than Nepenthes.

everything is looking great! keep up the good work!

WOW. I had to scroll back up to remind myself who the grower of such a beautiful spread was. Very nice.
I agree!

You might need some more practice with that camera.
Unless this comment was meant to be humorous, I take significant exception. While PM may not have years of experience snapping pics (as he readily admits), many of his shots show a fresh perspective & a willingness to experiment with unorthodox viewpoints which result in some impressive pics.

This Ceph pic is but one example of many that he has shared.

Great pics all around. How's that Stylidium Adnatum looking?

how did i miss this, love the photo's and plants

I'm impressed with the diversity of your collection! You've really stepped up to the plate.
I think Peat is pretty good with a camera. His in situ purp photos beat my S. flavas in a contest in the Conservation Station sub-forum.

Thanks!

Pumpkinface, its looking fine, almost killed it the other day but it came back. It has gotten a lot larger and is starting to do the scrambling thing. I am waiting for it to flower.

RL, its funny that you would select that photo as it is actually one of my least favorites I have posted thus far. I have been planning on retaking it but have not had the chance yet.

Wireman, I find its best to try growing as many genera as possible before I make a decision as per my favorite, so far I am heavily skewed towards Drosera but I tend to like them all.

That's my philosophy, too. I don't have a favorite so far since they're all so different. Your Drosera are looking very, very nice.

I'm in the same boat with S. graminifolium. It outgrew three pot sizes in one season. Hopefully I'll see some flowers in spring or summer.

PC died and so I am a mac user now, so these are edited on iPhoto. Still learning the program so they look a bit weird.

Alas, any tips from iPhoto users would be appreciated!

great photos!

Great Pics! You seem to be growing your U. reni very wet. I'm trying to figure out mine so could you tell me a little bit about your plant? Type, growing medium, how long have you had it? Thank you very much, Jack

Thanks all!

I got the reniformis back in November (I think), and I am growing it in a bath of live sphagnum that supports the stems and keeps it from sinking. In Barry Rice's book, it is described as a "Sphagnum slurry" and that is where I got the idea. It really is growing in water with just a little bit of Sphagnum floating around. And it does grow very well, it develops a new leaf every few weeks.
