Mt. Tahan & Mt. Kinabalu

So, yesterday, I mentioned to my old college roommate, via Skype, that I've been collecting and growing nepenthes since we last spoke. As a South African who spent most of his life in Thailand, it never occurred to me that he had probably been all over the islands of the south pacific. Well, sure enough, he informed me that he had taken a few photos in 2004 of various pitcher plants while climbing Mt. Kinabalu and Mt. Tahan in Malaysia.

I should also note that he is currently living in Cape Town, so I have asked him, whenever time permits, to take a trip to the Bainskloof Range, in order to snap some photos of the sundews endemic to that region.

Too cool! Are those albas?

I believe one of them is. Not entirely sure about the others.

I should also mention that he was probably 16 or 17 when he took these photos.

Very interesting to see them in the wild. Thanks for posting these pics.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing.

Do I see some villosas? very nice pics...thanks for sharing them.

villosa, tentaculata, and I forget what the white one is.

Not bad for that age. I can tell that they're film photos, which I like.

The villosas are incredible!
