*sigh* It makes me so happy to see so many critter babies loved and happy. They're all so cute but I do have to admit I got a special warm fuzzy glow to see someone else loves the giants with that wolfhound. It was a real contest with me to decide between showing wolfhounds or great danes! There's just something special for me about the gentle giants. Sadly they also have a shorter life span. We lost Hudson last December to osteosarcoma. It's been a bad time for us for pets losing him and we recently lost two of our cats, Luna and Blackie but we still have our other babies to console us.
My big baby!! I miss Hudson so.
Show pic with his breeder and handler
Nessie! She's a colombian rainbow boa, one of the smaller and easier to keep boas.
Jasmine (with chicken all over her beak
) Jas is a "rescue" from a pet store.
And Jasmine's twin, Lilly, playing in the paper. We rescued Lilly from abusive circumstances which makes life interesting for my husband since Lilly believes that it's her mission in life to sneak up on him to try to kill him. When Lilly is loose we have to be very careful because she gets super upset if my husband touches me at all and will come after him full force!
Daisy we found a few summers ago desperately trying to get a drink from our pool. Seems a neighbor didn't want her anymore and just tossed her out.
Wolfy was a shelter pup.
Dids was rescued from another neighbor who didn't want him anymore so left him to wander the streets. He's named for Sir Didimus in Labyrinth (no spell check ARGH lol)
We found Misty here at the store parking lot. She was just running up to everyone in a panic so when my husband crouched down and called her she just about bowled him over. We looked but never did find her owner so she's ours now!
My horse, Brother. He was winning some money at the racetrack when someone let him get a leg caught up in his halter injuring a tendon. He's fine for casual riding but that tendon wouldn't ever hold up to the stresses of racing again so his owner just wanted someone to take him off his hands.
My husband's somewhat chubby horse, Traveler. Traveler's an awesome laid back kinda guy!
Tina was pretty badly abused and still hasn't completely come around for us yet. She's letting me pet her face now which is good progress! She's a natural gaited paso fino and SOOOO much fun to ride!
And Benny the Wonder Donkey! He followed one of my son's home one day, seriously
We found his owners but they decided that they didn't want him. I think they were well intended but didn't know what to feed him so they were feeding him completely wrong. Poor lil Benny was breaking into their chicken house to steal the straw from the nests because he didn't have any grazing or hay to eat.
