One of my favorite things in life is to visit awesome wild places. When I do this I usually take photos - some better than others. This usually involves some plant shots as well as landscape photos. I hope you enjoy.

First installment: Hell's Canyon, Oregon/Idaho.

very nice pictures max

Lovely pictures, beautiful country! Thank you for sharing. Makes me long to get out and do some trekking this summer in the Wallowas area.

so jealous. Think my head would explode if I was ever that far from the house. I forget what the outdoors looks like. Thank you for the reminder..

Wow! gorgeous! very jealous...

Awesome pictures Max, thanks for sharing. Really gorgeous landscapes around there. It makes me feel lonely just looking at those mountains.

Thanks for your comments all. 'Glad you enjoyed them. Hopefully more photos will come with the summer season.

St. Helens south

Just a few shots from Siouxon (SOO-sawn) Creek and the SW side of Mt. St. Helens. 'Close to home.

I don't know if this is a problem for others but on this forum I often find that photos are reduced to something similar to thumbnails for me. My browser (Firefox) allows me to see photos in their full size by right-clicking on them and selecting 'View Image'. Perhaps other browsers allow this as well. I find it important to return to the forum by using the back arrow after I've done this so I don't lose my place. For what it's worth.

Thanks, DJ. The devastation zone on the N. side is probably what people expect but the areas below the rim have some great places.

The glacier lilies are really interesting.

The glacier lilies are really interesting.

Thanks. They are always a pleasure to find - Erythronium grandiflorum. I've been poor about giving proper scientific names.

North Cascade Mountains, WA State

So the other day I did a little overnight backpacking trip to one of my favorite places - the Washington North Cascades. Specifically this time, the Mount Baker Wilderness area. 'Hope you enjoy these photos I brought back.
