Hi, I wanted to post pictures of the plants I won in the latest NASC auction. They are all growing fabulously. I won a Drosera esmeraldae which has gotten much bigger.http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk231/mattbyers/recent/esmereldae.jpg

I got a group of bladderworts, includeing warburgii and nephrophylla which are both flowering. These are some of my first Utrics besides bisquamata, so I'm glad they agree with me. Very cool flowers.

I also got some D. meristocaulis, which are super coolest. I still can't believe I have them. They seem to be doing well, and growing in size. I do have to trim the moss very frequently to prevent a takeover, but you kinda gotta get em' up in your face to enjoy them anyways.

Thanks to the people who donated these plants to begin with, they are doing well and I thouroughly enjoy them!!

Now, I've been meaning to photgraph these plants for a while, any finally did in today. Having unpotted many Pings before, I've never seen what I would consider a subsantial root system. And even if they are dense, they seem to never be really long. I'm trying to figure out why these ones, the first I've ever potted into tall pots, have become soo large. As far as I can tell that is the only difference(same soil/light/temp,etc.) I kinda want to wash the media away just to see if they've made roots to the bottom of the pot. Anyways, check these guys out. P. gigantea x moctezumae and P. agnata UC Davis. Both are the biggest examples I've grown by a long shot. They are just ridiculous. I must have taken 60 photos. Hope you like em'.

diggin' the warburgii flowers. Never saw mine in flower before I gave it to a friend.
Nice score on the pings too.

Glad to see you back around these parts.

Your plants are excellently grown! :hail:

I ought to have at least a D.paradoxa for next spring's auction :p

wowzers, matt! those look great! i'm going to have to check em out in person sometime.

Thanks guys.

The D. meristocaulis look good. Feed them or their growth will stall. They form very long massive roots in proportion to their size. They appear to be very sensitive to root disturbance because every one Ivan repotted died. Proceed with caution. They are self-incompatible so you need two genetically different clones to get seeds.

Pretty D. esmeraldae, nice and dewy!

Thanks for the info NaN. I otherwise would not have fed them. Hopefully someday I will get a different clone.

hope to see some pics of your (about to be) new tuberous dew collection. I'm really slacking on getting caught up on shipping, I know. At least I do a good job of keeping in touch with everyone though.

You do for sure, that's probably why I'm not worried at all. At least Mass is always around, and keeps in touch. I really hope the tuberous dews do well with me, in which case I will certainly be taking plenty of pics.

growing them is the easy part.
getting them to go dormant is the tough part, for me anyways.
