Unknown from @madrone It's strange how the flower stalks always die, but the flower stick around on this.

P. emarginata x cyclosecta This flower has extra petals, this is the first flower so I'm not sure if it's a fluke.

I never get tired of ping flowers. So unique. Thanks for the photos!

Beautiful pics!! Your pings are looking great - I think I need to push my lighting a little harder!!

A couple notes on your flowers - the NOID you got from me doesn't have stalk die-off like that in my conditions (and I have 5-6 props of that plant that are flower-ing size). That's really strange!

The cyclo x emarg is probably just a fluke of the conditions during flowering - I get typical flowers, but this hybrid will also give me flowers with 4 petals. Thought I had a pic, but I can't find one now. I'll try and take one next time it does it - I swear it flowers twice a year, and one of the times it will show 'strange' flowers.

The NOID you got from vbkid looks like an emarginata x jaumavensis or jaumavensis x emarginata. Supposedly I have both of these (from different sources), but I'm hard pressed to tell one from the other, so either one is mis-id'd or their family mix came out VERY similar. Any way, not a firm ID on yours, but that's what it reminds me of!

Some time back I was given a P. laueana x emarginata and I am now impressed at what a pretty plant it is with the upturned leaf edges outlined in purple. Yours is the first photo I've seen of this one, I think.

I contacted who that ping is from, and they confirmed that the plant does often put out flowers with extra petals :)

D. burmannii Beerwah, QLD sown from seed from @FrankenSnyder on 10/25/23. Only a few more flowers left on its first flower stalk. I still have it under fairly strong light, 3-4k lux, giving it some red rather than the green this form is known for. It's also less than 1" across which I believe is small for it, again, likely from the high led light levels. Such a beautiful plant!
