Couple for yah
D. admiribillis and friends

N. splendiana x rokko 'exotica' seed grown, the one on left is a female, that flowers regularly. The right plant has yet to flower for me.

I believe this is max x thor, but the label broke and got lost. Any guesses or confirmations are appreciated!

Wow... it's been a while. Better late than never!
Yes, I am not a good photographer. :p

Lots of Nepenthes are currently in flower:

Nice work, Andrew!

  • #45
That is a ton of flowers! Time to play bee and produce a big pile of seeds.

  • #46
That madagascariensis though....hard to tell from the pics, is it male?

  • #47
Somehow I missed that madagascariensis when I read this before. Nice!

Thanks everyone!
Yes hcarlton, it is the same plant that flowered for me last year around the same time when you were trying to help me find a girl for it. :) I think we talked about sending it to you for storage but now can't recall if I ever sent it over or not. :-X

I doubt I'm going to do any pollination... I don't have the urge to make seeds just to make seeds. ??? Nothing really strikes me as a good mix, and I don't have any boy/girl combos to make species seeds.

Photos seem good to me! That maxima x veitchii is a cool-looking thing.

No, pollen never was sent. On the other hand, haven't had a decent flower since 'Rokko' last year, so not much missed. There are a lot more things maturing now though....hopefully something ends up female.

Been doing a lot of divisions/cuttings/pullings/propagating lately... Yesterday I had a hard time cutting this one off to propagate...

This one is ready to be cut, but then it got dark (excuse)

Very cool plants. They both appear to have ventricosa in them. What are the parentages?

Thanks and you are right. N. ventricosa x truncata and N. ventricosa red x N. Ovata

You're going to have a lot of new plants with all those cuttings you're taking. Let us know what'll happen with them all.

  • #57
They'll be listed in the store... And of course, I'm always interested in trades! :)

edit: Oh! and I'm not even showing everything I've taken cuttings of. :p

Maxima x veitchii (female)

20170412_183241_zpsr18ucaa6.jpg

Labeled as thorelii x witteii which the guy I got it from had it for at least 25 years so it's an old hybrid. But he doubts it's a thorelii or witteii... suggestions welcome!

N. ventricosa porcilin form This is a new to me plant and this is its first pitcher, so it's not a great one... But I'm excited anyway :D

240 "spuh" 240 has been in collections for over 25 years. The 240 in this name is a designation given by a grower and doesn't really mean anything special. The "spuh" was given since they would joke "It's just another Sp.?" This plant has been in collections for over 25 years but who knows what it is, but we do know it's a male!
20170412_182846_zpsrmamjmri.jpg

alata "giant" (male) Not sure what the giant came from... I've back tracked the history of this plant and it may have originally come from Geoff Mansell or Sam Estes, but I've not reached out to either of them to see if they know what the "giant" is all about...
