I love me some instrumental music :) I'll see if I can scrounge anything up...

I enjoy most instrumental music, from classical to jazz, electronic, and funk, but here's a couple old personal favorites:

Movie sound tracks are some of the best instrumental music:
Classical:"The Mission" sound track by Ennio Morricone:

I couldn't live with myself if I didn't HIGHLY recommend some Liquid Tension Experiment, much of it (though not all) requires an ear for virtuostic and complex progressive rock, so it depends if that's your style ;). They mix several styles though.

I also like Indian sitar music.

...Maybe not what you're looking for, but it's all instrumental ;)

I knew Liquid Tension Experiment was coming from you, Richard. Was also waiting for "Misirlou" to pop up. I need to go find the original Greek version now.

When I'm not listening to metal I like dark ambient / cinematic stuff. One of my faves was Mortiis (former bassist for Norwegian black metal band Emperor) But he wussed out and went from grandiose soundscapes of pseudo-medieval majesty to techno raver / dance music now. I guess someone still listens to it but it's not me, nothing after about 1995...
