There's several ways to do it but this is my way.
I received some N. rafflesiana "Black Speckle" seeds from eBay. I also received N. alata 'giant' x N. 'Miranda' seeds locally.
The first thing I do is prepare 1 cup of rain water. About 10ppm or less water quality.
I add clonex fertilizer to the water until I get about 200ppm water quality. (This part is not essential but might help)
I then split the pods and put them in this water mixture and move the seeds around. I have it sitting in this water for 24 hours.
I prepare the media for the seeds by boiling sphagnum in rain water for 30 minutes (about 10ppm or less water quality).
I place Expanded Clay Pellets (LECA) 1/2 way in a 72 cell tray that fits into a 1020 flat.
I then add the sterilized sphagnum in the cell filling it to the top. I then sprinkle the seeds on top.
I place my tray under T5 HO 24 watt lights. 12 hours ON in the day and 12 hours OFF at night.
(Tray on the left are N. rafflesiana seeds from eBay and try on the right are locale seeds less then a week old.)
I keep my lowland temps about 95F day and 75F night. http://www.michaelkevinsmith.com/nepenthaceae/Nepenthes-Altitudinal-Distribution-Temperature-Chart.html
(Night Temp)
I water with rain water and adjust the PH range to around 5 PH.
Exactly 14 days and I'm starting to see specs of green everywar in the right try with the fresh local seeds. No green yet on the eBay N. rafflesiana seeds.
24 days and the N. alata 'giant' x N. 'Miranda' are growing like champs! Nothing yet on the eBay seeds.

Looks like there is some life in N. rafflesiana "Black Speckle" seeds from eBay.
I'm starting to see green specs from the N. rafflesiana

Well it has bin two months sins I've been growing the eBay seeds and the seeds never germinated. Unfortunately I'm going to throw it out to make room for some locale seeds I got.
The N. alata 'giant' x N. 'Miranda' are growing and pitchering! Today I added clonex fertilizer to the water until I got about 200ppm water quality.
To be continued....
