My second attempt at smoked turkey.... turned out excellent.
I was always apprehensive about smoking whole turkey, but turns out its uber easy.

Pecan wood for smoke, dry salt rub and about 5 hours @250f
Internal temp 165f.

nomnomnomnom....

Happy Easter everyone....

Looks delicious

Why didn't you sell bbq in the auction?

I don't normally get hungry looking at a turkey, but that looks as delicious as your Heliamphora collection!

That looks great!

Yes and no, its crispy but not the same crispy you get with higher cooking temps.... but small price to pay for the outstanding meat.

Some sources say remove from smoker at an internal temp of 145f and put in 400f oven till internal temps reach 165f
But I was afraid to experiment with an "Easter dinner" turkey...

Looks fantastic! ... But I will stick with ham, kielbasa, polish sausage and other traditional "hunky" fare for the Easter meal.
