I can recommend villosa as a slow grower, at least for me. Its taken a few years to get the size it is now.
Macro isn't any speed demon either, but its getting pretty big pretty fast now.

Yea Lulu I wouldn't worry about them taking over your space anytime soon. They take a couple years before they even do any space taking.

As an example here is my macrophylla in a 3.5" pot from April of last year:

And I had to post the picture of the baby teeth. They are just too damn cute!
