It has been a while so thought I'd update this thread with some Bog pics. Temps are warming up so my season finally begins, sooo late but I will take it!

Thought I had lost these bog flytraps over the harsh winter we had, but guess not. These came up from a couple mature adult plants in that spot last year (Big Mouth)

Another bog clump, also growing from a couple mature plants from last year (B52 or Big Mouth?)

Nice pictures! Those Dionaea look pretty small to me.

Thank you. Yeah, a bunch of little ones that look like seedlings huh? Weird because there were mature full-sized plants in those spots last year, might be pics of them earlier in this thread. I suspect the "mother" plants died completely back to the soil over winter (this past winter was unusually harsh, longer periods of freezing) and that the mass of the bog protected the roots so what you are seeing is sprouts coming from the roots as opposed to dormant above soil plant material, much like how cut flower stalks or leaf pullings sprout? Like I said, I thought I had lost them because they disappeared on the surface by the end of winter, no green showing at all.

Lovely bog! I can't believe how far along your flowers/pitchers are. I'm several hours north, and my little potted bog gardens are nowhere near your gorgeousness.

Thank you! I was looking at my sarr photos from the last few years for this time of year and this year mine are at least a month behind in growth, but not feeling so sorry for myself now hearing yours are even further behind! Very frustrating isn’t it? This will most likely be the shortest growing season for sarrs I can remember. I am hoping for a really late fall start so maybe the leucos can have a chance at a decent late-season show, but fear they will barely be done with spring pitchers by fall the way things look right now.

Good to know - re: this year compared to previous years. I only just planted my sarracenias last spring, so don't really have much to compare it to. And, then, of course, since we were bemoaning the cold-wet spring, here we are with summer weather. What the heck?! Maybe we'll catch up?

Man, I hope so, catch up! Although I could do without the 98 degree temps we had yesterday and it looks like the flava varieties hated it also.

New addition to the farm, S. ‘Reptilian Rose’. Thank you Calen!

The plant had been in a greenhouse and the first pics were taken soon after I got it. I kept her in my garage window for a couple days then put her outside during the day to get some real sunlight.

I know, right? I can't take credit for growing it up to this point because I only recently got it, and it came from greenhouse conditions. I just hope it looks this good next year under my care and being outside year round.
