Thanks, man. My 'Wacky Traps' is doing great! It's even making a double-headed leaf. I've had it happen before on a typical, but never on an already mutated cultivar!

Yeah, that sphag does not look good, way too much algae. I'd restart with a clean tub, clean water, and pieces you're sure are not contaminated....

Yea, I have a ~10yr old bearded dragon, too. Used to have more leopard gecko's but they got sick. This is my last one, and he's been thriving for a few years. My sphagnum culture got overrun by algae, unfortunately.

Thanks! He's a very curious little guy. Whenever I'm working on my plants which are next to my lizards, both my gecko and my bearded dragon come out to watch and see if I have snacks.

I'm probably gonna end up getting more healthy sphag, but there are a lot of little tiny pieces of actively growing sphag poking through the algae in this one, so I'm curious is it can eventually take over the tray again. Ideally, It would grow a few inches of clean sphag, and I can cut them u pfor a new culture, and toss the algae covered bottom layer.

Nice work. I have a question to ask about leopard geckos, if you don't mind. Will leopard geckos get a respiratory infection in high humidity? Every care sheet that I read says that they can tolerate low humidity, but never says if they have to be kept at low humidity, so I've never really looked into one because of how humid it is in my area. Thanks.

I wouldn't intentionally put them in a very humid environment, but I don't think room humidity would cause an infection or death. Especially if you circulate the air. That said, I recommend a second and third opinion along with mine, since there is animal life involved, and I'm not 100% sure. They're awesome pets, though. They're pretty easy to care for, and they generally have good dispositions and long life spans.

Thanks for the input. I know that they're easy and live a really long time. The only thing that I was really unsure about was humidity. I have a crested gecko and a California kingsnake myself. I'll probably get a fat tailed gecko if I do put something in the old 20 gallon that I'm not using. Again, thanks.
