@ N.G. : Heliamphora & light

Sorry Nep. gracilis, but I couldn't reply your message.

So I'll write here :

My Heliamphora minor x heterodoxa has pitchers at about 8" and is flowering at the moment.
I have an older picture of it (see below)

The right pitcher on the picture has been grown under not the brightest possible conditions !
Note the elongeated pitcher and the reduced or even absent "lid" !
In my opinion Heliamphora ONLY grows under the brightest light which is possible (without warming up the plant too much)

Look at the natural habitat in Venezuela where the plant are growing under "tropical sun" with an extremly high amount of ultraviolet radiation because of the high altitude.

I forgot what I did ask you about Heliamphora.

Anyway GREAT PICTURE!!!!!!!!! I like Heliamphora but they are just soo expensive!!! &#3655.00-&#3670.00 for 1 plant!

where do you buy your Heliamphora ???

55-70 &#36 ????

Even H. neblinae (ssp. ?), tatei, hispida or ionasii are cheaper !
You can get minor, heterodoxa and nutans together for less than 30 &#36.
Look at Andreas Wistuba's price-list

And I even think, that the common Helis are too expensive, because you can get these species with adult pitchers for the same price or even cheaper at one of the European CP meetings.

Btw : Is someone a member of the ICPS and can scan and mail me the articel about the newly described H. folliculata, please ?

Martin

I guess I will go ahead and let the cat out of the bag....

We (PFT.com ) will be offering Heliamphora Heterodoxa x minor by months end.

I can assure you that we will have for less than 30&#36

They are still growing out...but I will be ready to release some to the people in the forums first...then I will put them up in the store.  I hope I will have different ones to come later...but for now...it is a start!

Martin: I don't own one yet I just have SEEN some for that price off of various websites.

Jaie: Sweet!! I probably will buy one from you if they will be less than &#3630.00. I want some different CP'S first though. I just can't stop admiring Sarracenia and Nepenthes! Along with Sundews and VFT's Ohh what the heck! All of them!!

That's great to hear and I was planning to buy one in the spring. And Jaie, what do you mean ``I will be ready to release some to the people in the forums first?''

EP02 (Yes... I am giving Eplants a Starwars Droid Nickname!)

Phil and Jeff traditionally offer newer plants, especially ones that might be in short supplies, to those of us that like to play in the forums, before they add it to the website, this way, you get the cream of the crop.

It's one of petflytraps many ways of saying "thank you" for being a valuable member of this community!

Well that is extremly nice of you both Phil and Jaie! I am on here almost every night and I LOVE this community!!! Nep.G.

EP02 (hehe)

I will have many to offer...but I am only going to offer them first to the people in the forums...

This would be my THANK YOU to everyone that comes in here and is active ( so that means people that don't come in here all the time doesn't get to see what I have to offer next!)

And RP
That would be true!!! The first plants that I let out are going to be the BEST! Not that all of them won't be...but they will be a little bigger !!

just interested :

Whats the size of the plants ?
have they been propagated invitro ?
how long have the been outside the "bottle" ?
Have they mature pitchers ?

1) about average to what everything else I see...A couple nice pitchers...fits in a 3 inch pot

2) Propagated in-vitro

3) They have been out of the bottle for a few months- plants are about a year old...they would be bigger ( I think ) but there was a learning curve...They don't do well with heat...When they get too hot...they just stop grwoing....they don't die. They just don't grow!

4) Yes there are mature pitchers...not many...1-2 good size pitchers.

Hi all:

Ok.. here's the run down with the Heliamphora.  We're going to have a total of about 200 plants.  They'll be sold as small, medium and large.  See pics for reference.  The small will run about 8 or 9 dollars, medium around 12-13 dollars and larger about 19-21 dollars.  We'll have about 20 large plants, 100 mediums and the balance will be small.   Most are very healthy... and of course only the MOST healthy will be sold.   These plants have actually been out of the 'bottle' for about 8 months... so they are well acclimated and ready to ship.  There have been problems with heat, and general growing conditions over the summer...  which is why the're just now being released with the cooler temps.   They'll more than likely be seasonal... about 200-300 per year around February to March.

If you would like one of these plants, but aren't quite ready to take delivery... let us know ASAP so we can hold one for you.  The latest we can hold them, however, is March 1st.  After that, it starts to get too hot here in Houston to grow them successfully.

So, take a look at the pics... and contact us if you're interested!
