San fernando valley

I live in the san fernando valley all my life , in canoga park that is . I always had problems with growing cps because the humidity was wayyyyy too low and the temperatures were way too high . I was wondering if anybody lives in the san fernando valley , how do you grow cps so succesfully , i am thinking about growing them in the house on the east facing window with a humdifier but still i did'nt have success .
