Update on Zachary

Hello,

For those that are concerned or curious I thought I would update you on Zachary. We found a specialist 20 minutes away and we just finished with the first appointment. The Doc is a neurologist, psycologist and ADHD expert. He checked Zach out and told me that something is definitely not right. He said that something other than Zach's sever ADHD was causing the problems that are occurring. He believes that the problem was created during developement, but he is not sure what it is. He statement was, "This something more than his ADHD. Zach is...(pause)...different". He tried again to find a better word for it, but ended repeating the pause and statement. I love my different boy. He is pure of heart. The good news is that a professional is seeing the problem and is going to find its cause. We have a full day of test scheduled including MRI, EEG, and Electrogram. This is scheduled for Feb. Hopefully he finds the problem and, God willing, we can work with it.

Rose,
I'm very glad you have found someone who can see there is a problem. I fervently hope this new doc will be able to diagnose and treat Zach. My thoughts are with you.

Rose,

Sorry to hear about Zachary.  I can relate having been diagnost with Adult ADHD this year.  My oldest and youngest sons will undergo testing in 2004 because they are "different" along with ADHD without the hyperactivity part.  My oldest is 17 and been in and out of testing for most of his life.  He has severe allergies and takes shots 1 to 2 times a week to keep it under control.

I feel fortunate just to have them and like you love them dearly.  I hope the doctors will help both you a Zachary find the answers.  Good luck and my prayers are with you.

Rick

Sounds like you are now on the right track Rose. That's great! Maybe the new year will bring good things for you and Zach and all your family. I know its a relief to know help could be on the way.

Good luck and keep us updated.

That's what they said about me before lableing me with Autism (which I still don't think I have).  Hope you don't get stuck with the "we don't know so we will defult to this" lable. If you do get that lable, check into some of Englands studies on related things, the USA refuses to accept a bunch of them as seporet disorders and lumps them all when treatment is totally different.

Good news my friend!!! I have you and yours in my mind, and I am rooting for you. I wish there were more I could do, but if good will counts for anything, you certainly have mine.

Prays and good will count for a lot. I am glad to have people to talk to. In my career I have to be careful who I talk to here. Thank you all for the ears.

Yes well, I'm root'n for yah

Thanks for the update, Rose, & a positive one at that.  I, too, have been thinking about you & Zachary & wondering how you are all doing.  Something like this affects the whole family, including us.
