A very rare photo

The tenth annual Fort Lauderdale Air and Sea Show - A Salute to th US Military is being held this weekend.  The two day event will draw four million people to our beach, perhaps the largest single spectator event in the world.
I lucked out and got a once in a lifetime photo  from my front yard  yesterday and wish to share it with you guys.

A P-51 Mustang flying in formation with a F-15 Strike Eagle (top) and a F-16 Fighiting Falcon.  Not the best pic in the world but it is a rare one.  They were at about 5000'.

These are the Blue Angels and yes...that is the roof of my home and yes...they were flat cookin' when they passed over.

God bless our military.

awesome pics.

one of my favorite time of the year at work is when the airshow is in town. the airfield is right across the street from work, so i get to see a lot of different planes come and go (sorry, i have no clue what their names are). the best part is when, every year, there is a little horseplay between the pilots that always ends up in a japanese zero being chased by a larger and much newer jet.

it's always a good time to watch!

lauderdale, thanks for sharing your picts!!

Awesome pics Lauderdale.

Juat a correction, in the first picture there is a F-16 (below the P-51 Mustang) but the plane above the P-51 Mustang is a F-15 not a F-18.

You are absolutely correct eplants.  The F-18 is Navy...the F-15 is Air Force.  All three in the photo are Air Force.  You know your fighters.

I had F-18's on the brain as they are what the Blue Angels fly.
Correction noted and made to my post.
By the way, the Angels made about ten passes right over my home, and while they were no where near WFO, my CPs just kinda wilted...absofreakinlutely awesome display of power and precision flying.
Pattern altitude at Lauderdale Int'l Airport is 1000' and they were a LOT lower that that. Gotta' get up on the roof and see if there are any tail hook skid marks.

I probably took thirty pics and only manged to lead them well enough to get one fairly decent photo.

Oh yes I do.

They must be a sight when they fly by with their afterburners on.

where do you live that there was an airshow? not near florence s.c.??

me?
i'm in akron, ohio. lockheed martin, what used to be goodyear aerospace (and the blimp hanger), and the previously mentioned airfield are all across the street from work.
remember a year or 2 ago, when they had all of the goodyear blimps flying together for the first time in "xx" amount of years? they flew right over my head.

I love air shows. The best by far that I have been to was at Seymore Johnsons AFB, It was awsome. I use to work at Pope AFB and I was to watch the pilots practice.
I love the photos.

Here is another pic I took Saturday of a Blue Angel.  A little blurry but he was really cookin' when he went by.  He lit the afterburner a second later and went vertical...right on out of sight.

Wow...fantastic photos! That blue angel is one sharp looking plane! I loooove big, loud planes and trains. Something about all that POWER!

Every so often some kind of fighter planes go screaming over my house...in formation, very low and very loud...sounds like the sky is tearing open! I love it! I'm sure they are coming from Langley AFB. They probably get from Langley to my house in a few minutes! I mean they are rippin' it! They are just beautiful.

Great shots there Jan.

They could also be Navy planes from Virgina Beach.

Did I ever mention that I use to drive a train?
