I had a miniature pit bull (forgot real breed name?)... Her name was Amera, sweetest little dog in the world. We were having our house re painted one week, and the #@$% piece of #$%# painters came without calling us first (THEY WERE TOLD TO CALL FIRST!) Anyways, they left the gate open, Amera got out, and some #$%#&* $@#%*&# teenagers on the block decided to have some fun... demented little #$%#&! they shot her 3 times, in the chest.. she wandered a mile before falling over dead in a friends yard. I swear to god, if I met the people that did it, I'd smack their heads off and throw them into #### myself!

I'll never forget her...

:tears: Poor dog! I have heard many pass away, but not in such a dishearting way such as this. I agree with you, I would stand and smile as they went through all the tortures of Rome J/K. But still, that makes want to b*t*h them up...I'm so sorry to hear that, man. (reserved only for times of utmost sadness)

BTW, how'd you know it was teens?

Yes I agree, you should kick the owner and not the dog, its just their natural instincts to growl. But if it makes the owner sad, then GO AHEAD! No really - it still makes the dog sadder. Still it seems like the owner is to blame here.

Yes she is free to roam the neighborhood should she choose but for the most part (95% of the time) she stays aroung the house lounging on the deck and occasionally jumping the fence to explore the lake (and no the lake is not the problem or there would be dead fish a pleanty.) And I know she isn't causing havok at night because I close her in the sunroom.

Just heard from the vet, despite all the supportive care her condition worsened overnight. I had to give permission to end her suffering.

What a crappy way to start the weekend.

I am very sorry to hear about your cat Travis. I lost a cat to kidney failure as well. It was probably not due to poison. Cats tend to have kidney problems. They for crystals in their urine when the trouble begins. It may sound disgusting, but owners should check their cats urine from time to time. The crystal can not be seen until the urine dries, but then they can not be missed.

Putting an animal down is difficult. Those of us that have done it feel with you and know that it is a brave and kind thing that you do for your pet.
