Poem

Would getting another be a sin?
There’s always a bit of space to ram one in!
Another plant! Just one plant more!
(There’s always room upon the floor)

I beg, I plead, I hypnotize:
“Look d-e-e-ply into my eyes”
That Sundew there upon your List
Surely that one would not be missed?

I shake and tremble as I pant,
“I gotta have that pitcher plant!”
I wonder what the price could be?
I swear its smiling right at me!

Never mind what others say
Who needs windows anyways!?
And there nothing quite as sweet
As the smell of freshly wetted peat

I’m not fussy, I’ll take any
And like you said, you’ve got too many!
(Although I wonder if I could sleep in bed
With a Nepenthes bongso above my head)

No matter! Send it quick and soon
I’m growing pale, my senses swoon
Depressed and listless, sad and bleak
I haven’t had a plant all week!

Lol... That sounds like... well, probably the majority of the people on this forum. And the ones who aren't like that will be soon.

The question should be "Hey, is that a real poem, or just one you made up?".

It is a Tamlin original. I also have a sonnett: "Ode To A Dissolving Bug", done in iambic pentameter. Billy Shakespear would be proud of me.

Working on some Hiku as well:

Mouths close slow
Long Shadows
The Dragon sleeps

Have a Country/Western song: "Leah, They're On You Like Flies" Billy Nelson would be proud of me.

I also have a psychedelic rock number: "In A Bogga Da Vita". I ran the different recorded sounds the flies and wasps trapped in S. flava tube make through a reverse loop digital delay, and sequenced it to an octave splitter using a guitar midi wave form. My plants love it, since it reminds them of The Beatles.

I also rewote the Pledge of Alligence and the Our Father....but we probably shouldn't go there.
