Putting together a terrarium

Greetings everyone. I have a 10 year old neice who is interested in carnivorous plants (what young or old kid isn't?). I would like to put together a terrarium for her with several different plants. I'm thinking of putting in venus flytraps, pitcher, and sundew plants...maybe a few others as well. I have a 5 gallon aquarium. I've also thought of using some sort of plastic container...such as some rubbermaid container with a clear plexiglass top. I figured it would be lighter and safer to handle.

Can anyone give me any recommendations? What type of container? Type of soil? Lighting? Watering? Etc? We live in Ohio...so the winter months tend to be dry humidity and less light, but summers are a bit more humid. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Dwight
