Male/female

how do i know if my flowers (when i get them) are male or female?

Are we talking Neps. Or I guess a better question would be flowers of what?

You will have just a stamen and no anthers, or anthers and no stamen. Male/female flowers have both.

the anthers are what produces pollen and the pistil/stigma is the thing that is fat in the beginning gets thinner but ends in a small moist disk.

neps, sarracenia, drosera, ult., venus fly traps, pings.

once that get flowers.

and thanks for the neps explaination photos tony, those are helpful.

Sarraceina, and most Drosera can be self pollinated, VFT can be, but the best result is to cross pollinate. Same with most Pings. Utrics can be most easily be reproduced through plugs(terrestial) and cuttings(aquatic).

most (if not all) sarracenia, drosera, ult., venus fly traps, pings
are both male and female

Nepethes are only one gender or the other. Like humans, well, most of us.

Anyway, i'd check it just by rubbing my arm on it and seeing if any pollen comes off. Other than that, i can't give any more info since my Neps haven't flowered yet, but i can telll you that Male and Female flowers look different.
