Ahhhhh...Dale Chihuly! He is considered to be one of the world's greatest living glass artists.

BUT...not only that...he is one of the top collectors of vintage Indian blankets...a passion of mine as well.
smile.gif
He has an extensive collection of Pendleton's and other wool Indian trade blankets...over 700, and also has a book out featuring 80 of his top blankets. Many of his glass creations are inspired by Indian blanket designs. These blankets are not Native-American made, but were woven by mills for the Indians.

So...Chihuly has my respect both as an artist and a primo blanket collector. When I think "Chihuly", I think blankets, not glass!

I heartily recommend an Indian blanket for everybody! Warm, soft, beautiful, historic fabric art. Functional and aesthetic.

Uhhhhh...what was this topic about??
