Disaster relief in sri lanka

If anyone wishes to help, you can donate to any of the major aid agencies or alternatively, we are collecting donations which will be used for a specific cause at some stage in this ongoing crisis.  Payment can be made by credit card (VISA or Mastercard) and our bank has kindly agreed to reduce the usual processing fee to a minimum, so more of your donation can be used to help those who are in such desperate need.

We have created a web page at Disaster Relief Appeal with more details.  Even very small donations are invaluable, since US$10 can feed an entire family for a week whilst they are getting back on their feet, rebuilding their houses etc.

Thanking you in advance for any help you can give.

Hey Rob,

Can we paypal that e-mail address? Not everyone will be 100% comfortable with e-mailing or faxing credit card info.

Good question, Dave.
I was wondering....
The NASC auctions went so well...do you think we could do the same thing to raise money for disaster funds?

Cheers,

Joe

Thanks for the suggestion. We used to have a PayPal account but it's lapsed now. Also funds could only be accessed from a bank in England which takes quite soem time.

Faxing credit card numbers is secure and splitting the numbers up and putting them into several e-mails should be OK too. We don't need the card verification number which is a sensiteve bit of information.

As far as security here goes, I personally enter the number into our terminal here and then we destroy the credit card info (unless it's from a regular customer for our plants in which case we keep the records in an encrypted file).

We've fixed a small glitch on the webpage with the e-mail address. It should work OK now when clicked on.
