You guys have good taste!

Woah! CApslock: Dr. Strangelove - this one blew me away, brilliant movie although it scared the heck outta me.

Some picks from me:

LOTR - Sort of ironic - Tolkien HATED the movies!

Dune - The loooong version is best, totally disagreed with the critics. I read Dune 6 times and that movie was made for MEEEE

The Day the EArth Stood Still - Awesome SF B&W - "Gort! Klatau verada necto!!!"

7 Days in Tibet - You're there.

Princess Bride - Looking for the six fingered man

I love movies, my list is endless

I see alot of favorites with other members. I'd have to go with something I could watch over, and over again.

1. Platoon
2. Top Gun
3. Singing in the rain
4. Encino Man
5. Shine - with Geoffry Rush- "He's not ready for Rachmaninov"
I have to agree with JS on Back to the future, and ShortCircut.

Evil Dead II. I did not think anyone would have this one on their lists, but after reading down the thread, was not too sure until the end.
Love the LOTR movies.
Tamlin, I think Dune was the best scifi book ever written-which movie are you talking about, where Sting played ....man I can't remember the character's name. Guess I better read them again, lol.
