We use lemon on the electrical cords here...works like a charm for about a month, then you have to re-apply.

I'm all for hot sauce on cats. But you gotta slow-cook 'em all day long to get the gamey taste out. Applewood works best.

Yeah, cats don't like citrus...so you could use limes or oranges, too.  Rabbits don't like citrus, either, or so I am told.
