Photoperiod reduction

Should I be putting my terrarium lights on a shorter photoperiod now? I've heard that dormancy starts around Halloween, but I'm guessing I should start the gradual change any time now. I have mostly tropical plants in my terrariums, but I also have a few dormancy requiring ones, like a few Venus Flytraps and a Thread-Leaf Sundew.

If you have tropical plants in your terrarium then you need to remove the plants that require dormancy and treat them seperately. Besides.. it isn't enough to simply shorten the days as a method for giving a temperate plant dormancy. It needs reduced temperatures also.

Truer words have never been spoken! hehe
