Compact fluorescent saftey

Just a guy
Ok, quick question, hopefully somebody will be able to answer it quickly and let this thread die.

Light sockets are built for specific wattages(ex. "to reduce risk of fire do not use wattage over 60W). For a compact fluorescent bulb, what wattage should I go by for saftey? The actual wattage or the wattage equivilant for an incandescent?

The actual wattage. The incandescent comparison is for light output, which doesn't matter for this. You just need to make sure the actual bulb will not draw more than is stated.

So basically, a thirty watt cp(equal to 120W) will be fine in a 100W fixture?

cool, Thanks a bunch

Yes sir. That's the same (to the fixture) as a 30w incadecent bulb.
