Love that vogelii.. Can't wait for mine to start making real pitchers again.
Pretty sure everybody buys vogelii for it's uppers. Same goes for platychila.
OMG just google imaged that and I NEED TO HAVE ONE! The peristome... OMG...
Going to the nep store soon in that case...
I'd be willing to part with mine, maybe. Shoot me a PM if you get an itchy trigger finger.
I have two Amorphophallus konjac bu they are young little things. I look forward to when they get the giant smelly flower. I actually like Vogelii's lowers because they are so long and skinny.
I think they'll be six inches tall from that size, with leaves but no flowers. I'm not sure how big or old they have to be for first flowers though. Mine are just spikes coming out.
That live sphagnum is just screamin' for some feral D. prolifera in there ...
Until now, it did not strike me that these guys only bloom for a few days, and when they do, they smell strongly of rotting flesh to attract insects for pollination... Should've known since it's related to a rafflesia... That's awkward...
If you find you develop a "taste" for such things, I should send you a cutting of Stapelia gigantea. Not only does it look like the petals are made from decomposing Rabbit hide, it smells like it too. Delightfully fragrant on a warm morning, especially if you position it where the sun can warm the blooms. Mmmmmm.....
(Each of these flowers is nearly a foot in diameter, by the way)
Eeew, drosera are weeeird!
It could be screaming for some Sarracenia purpurea, though.
What did you just say?
