Converting a Room to an Indoor Greenhouse

    Hi everyone!

Im looking to convert a spare room into an indoor greenhouse for nepenthes and wanted to get some advice/opinions. The room is a little over 8ft x 5 ft, the cabinets and the gecko cage will be removed.

    1. Going to repaint/cover the walls to be water resistant to the high humidity - specifically the corners to the floor and ceiling. I want to make sure we don't have mold issues. I also plan to set up multiple fans to keep the air moving just in case. The floors are already lined with linoleum so there shouldn't be any issues with leaking onto the floors. Im thinking there should be paint (maybe outdoor paint) that should be good for this. Has anyone had experience ensuring that the walls dont get water damage?

    2. Shelving/Lighting

I want 2 levels to grow on and plan to bolt shelving directly into the wall. I'm not sure what the best way to configure this with the lighting. Going to get a 4ft 8 bulb T5 agrobright fixture for the corner and some strip lights for the rest of the ceiling. Will probably have to hang the light about 3ft above the shelf to fit my vining nepenthes.

I want to have 2 shelf levels with a basin on the floor to catch the water drips from both levels. This only works though if the light is strong enough to penetrate both levels which I'm not confident in. Alternatively, do you think it would be better to just plan on getting two lights for each level? I could enclose the bottom shelf with plastic to make more of a lowland set up.

    3. Humidity

I have a mistking system on my terrarium but thinking of just using a humidifier for the room. Are they sufficient to bring the humidity up to 80%+? Also looking for one that can be on 24/7 and not have to be filled everyday. Thinking something like this one but have never had any experience with them:

Thanks so much for any input! Here a few pictures of my plants
