Giant staghorn sundew not looking good...

All the plants in my terrarium are doing great except my Staghorn. What's odd is that is gets all the same treatment that my other plants do. Same light, same water, same air, everything. Yet the tips of the leaves are turning black and there isn't an abundance of dew. Also, some of the stems are turning a reddish color, but I think that's just what sundews do when they get rid of old leaves. Last but not least, my Giant Staghorn is the only one of my plants that hasn't shot up new leaves since I got it. It still has all the old leaves, but perhaps this is because it's a bigger sundew and doesn't produce new leaves as often. Please help!

The leaves could be dying back. The stems of my D. multifida turn red before they even unfurl, so I'm not sure that is a problem. Can you take it out of the terrarium and still give it adequate light? My only thought is that the air might be too stuffy or still in your terrarium. Mine does fine in the open air in my apartment, under four 40-watt fluorescent bulbs. I water it to the soil level and then let the tray dry out entirely. The air is fairly dry, getting down into the 20s in the day and usually no better than 50 at night. My D. dichotoma just loves it - it's my dewiest sundew. Even the cuttings that I recently took out of propagation readily produce dew at ambient humidity. Perhaps someone more experienced will have more advice for you. You might consider having this moved to the sundew forum, where sundew specialists are more likely to see it.

Thanks for replying so quickly!

I'm almost positive it isn't stuffy air in my terrarium, because I have a moderate size fan that blows over the opening on top that creates a nice breeze inside. And you said that your sundew leaves turn red before they even unfurl. Mine do too, but it doesn't look like it's that. Bah, I have no idea!

Also, how do I get this moved to the sundew forum?

Just ask nicely in a post and a moderator will move it when they see. Hopefully somebody with a little more knowledge will find this thread and help you.

You could also PM any Mod that's on the forum at the time. Just check the list of names of people currently online (near the bottom of the homepage). Mods names are in bright blue, at least for me.
