NEED HELP WITH ID

This grew from a clipping that I got from a member here if I'm not mistaken. It took off pretty quickly but he wasn't sure of what kind of plant it is. If anybody can figure it out through this less-than-sharp image, I'd love to hear your guesses. The thumb is there for a size reference and this pitchers have a couple of little hairs on their "chins".

i got the same thing. its a TC mutant....whatever it is. its a cute plant but also an ugly one.

EDIT: i look on yours closer and we dont have the same exact type...mine has wings on it.

does yours have a BAJILLION nectar glands underneath the leaves?

I do believe it does. There are faint traces of tiny wings on the front now that I look at it a bit more. It lives in the corner of a tank and I don't really spend much time looking at in considering there are bicalcs and a rafflesiana in there too.

Do you know anything about this creature?? That picure of the "headless" pitcher is creepy, but that is the plant. Some pitchers have lids and some don't-does that sound like yours?

Looks like a ventrata. Doubt if a straight up alata was offered.

it used to. i had only 3 pitchers total with lids. they younger they are(like just coming out of a basal, off shoot, ect) the tiny pitchers have lids. dosent happen to me any more though on the older pitchers.

all i know about it is that its:
-a TC mutant
-make a bunch of growth points(surprisingly mine has only 1)
-has crazy pitchers
-has a bunch of nectar glands
-crazy proto-pitchers(before the thing inflates)

i hope it helps... supposedly it just kinda dies. Capslock HAD one so ask him about it.

It looks like a N. x Ventrata to me. I have one that I've been growing for a couple of years. I took about 8 cuttings from the mother plant and two of the 8 have started growing in a similar fashion. there are multiple growth points coming from each cutting; it looks like the dormant buds have all woken up but the pitchers are not deformed; they look like a typical Ventrata. The other six cuttings each exhibit a typical Nepenthes growth pattern. The mother plant is always sending up a new basal.

Whether the plant shows wings or not could be a result of hybridization? I'm no expert on hybridizing Nepenthes, but I thought that the offspring of a cross more closely resembled the seed-bearing parent? If the seed-bearing parent of your particular clone was a N. ventricosa, then it would look more like a ventricosa? If the seed bearing parent was a N. alata, then it would look more like an alata and possibly have wings? Young N. x Ventrata plants have wings, so couldn't this trait carry over?
