throw some ids on it (Sundews)

Here are some pics of dews i haven't been able to id:

#1- A spatulata variety? I obtained this plant from sgardner, who i haven't been able to contact since August or so.
He sent me some of intermedia plants that he propagated from plants on his property in California and these were mixed in. They did look very similar at first, but after developing more, they completely transformed in their appearance.

Originally I thought it was a D. capillaris, but it's starting to look like a D. spatulata.

Here are before and after pics:

i didn't catch a picture of it, but it's flower is a stunning magenta-hot pink mix.

And #2
I received this from laura who got it at an lacps meeting as most likely a D. x beleziana hybrid, but after looking at recent pics, it almost looks like some D. capillaris is in it. It hasn't flowered yet.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Number looks like spatulata, not sure what variety, though. And number two looks like intermedia x capillaris OR a young rotoundafolia?

I forgot to mention that I think that plant #2 is pretty much full grown, so unless it's an odd breed of D. rotundifolia, I think it can be ruled out.
i appreciate your input.

D. spatulata and D. capillaris

Drosera capillaris "long arm" (crappy photos) Biggest plant (flowered in Aug) is 1.25" across:

I think you nailed it NaN. thanks dude. It can see in the first pic the group to the right has that odd shape on the leaf like mine. Mine is just a bit smaller than your flowered-size one. i'm just mad i bought a pack of D. capillaris 'Long Arm' thinking i didn't have it...

Any idea what spat variety #1 is, though? I sure can't seem to find anything online that looks like it.

There are too many forms of D. spatulata for an easy ID.

And ithe other may not be "long arm" but I'm pretty sure it is D. capillaris. Unless it's one of Dr. Frankensnyder's hybrids like D. capillaris x rotundifolia. From the size I'd say not (too small) but you never know if he didn't use "Pasco Giant" in one of his crosses.

alright, well at least i'm a lot closer than i was before.
Thanks again.

Has the D. spatulata flowered yet? It looks a lot like my potential hybrid "Suzie Q" I was growing several years ago but never published...smallish but thick rosettes intensely red, pink flowers. I remember sending out seed so maybeeeeee....In any event, best referred to as simply Drosera spatulata. A very charming Sundew for all of that.

I can't find any pics online of "Suzie Q" , since it's not registered, but the name was only thrown around a llittle on google. It does sound like your description. I have a plant that I recently repotted that is going to flower in a week. I'll post pics. Unfortunately, it's not looking so hot... but I have seed from a few months ago if you're up for some. Are you still growing? It's great to finally experience your help after reading your amazing tips/ posts for about a year now! :)
Thank's,
Aaron

Hello Aaron, nice to meet you too. Thanks much for the offer of seed, but current health issues prohibit my growing. Maybe in the spring I can arrange some space to grow some CP, I sure do miss the plants!

I never had any collection data on the prospective "Suzie Q" so am not surprised there was no websearch hits. I loved all the D. spatulata forms and there are so many - I've grown rosetted plants half the size of a dime to the huge Drosera 'Tamlin' which appaears to be circulating in the UK at least. Most of the forms are flat and wagon wheel-like, but this form makes very thick rosettes nearly totally red including the petiole.

Alright, I'll be sure to save you some seed from the next batch!
I might be mistaken, but the guy i traded to get the plants said he grew them from leaf cuttings he collected on his property in Redwood Valley, CA. I could have the story wrong though. I'll have to try contacting him and see if he's still growing the plant/ where he actually obtained it.
Take care,
Aaron

Didn't hear back from steven, but I did take some really poor pictures of the flower:

Here's an update on the plant:

Here's a link to see it in higher resolution:

Hopefully this can confirm whether or not it is a D. spatulata, after hearing mixed results on some other forums.
Thanks again,
Aaron
