Thought I'd share a few pics of these really nice mature tarantulas:

Catching the Stirmi after an escape. Its hair kicking had me scratching my chest for 2 days

You have one of these as a PET?

Yes! but maybe its the other way around...lol. The Blondii male was a friends & is now dead I believe. The Stirmi is mine & much more mean. I also have about 8 more that I need post pics of.

I never knew you could keep these. And what do you mean by "mean?"

do you have softball sized spiders that just occasionally get on the wrong side of the bed?

You know. 'Mean'. Quick tempered and sharp fanged. I'm sure you have an ex who fits the bill, we all do.

Yes there are numerous species available to keep as pets & these 2 are pretty much the largest. When purchased at that size they're usually $100-$400. But if you get them as spiderlings (the size of a pinky nail to quarter sized) then they're usually affordable.... well not the blondi.
Some tarantulas just have jumpy & defensive temperaments. Others are very calm & docile. There are many species known for being easily handled as well as many that make better display pets.

Haha! Could not stop laughing when I read that response. :-))

Ill post an example pic of an average sized tarantula spiderling that I have.
