This is a common aquatic carnivorous plant around here. I tried to grow it, but I haven't had a long-term success, though. It is supposed to be similar to U. vulgaris, but the shape of the spur is quite different.

Thank you for the link, NaN. Initially, some of us thought that it could be a predatory/rival-removing purchase, but now I can see that they are a way better parent than verizon, and Smugmug seems to appreciate the community aspect of Flickr. A for-profit company could change their positions...
I think you have one HLG, controlling 4x CXB3590, right? Then you want to use 100k ohm pot as the dimmer. I think the other values of pots are when you are controlling multiple drivers with a single pot.
Are you using active cooling (i.e. a CPU heatsink with a fan)? Since you have HLG, you...
nimbulan is right. It's not a problem at all. I have exactly same driver/COB combo, and it works if you make parallel loop.
driver+ ---- COB1 ----- COB3 --- driver -
\- COB2 -/ \-COB4 -/
COB1 and 2 in parallel and COB3 and 4 in parallel. And these get connected serially.
You get...
Yes, epoxy type sealant is much more expensive, so I was also trying cheaper elastomeric (looks like FlexSeal is elastomeric paint, but I used a different one). I've seen people used it for plywood aquariums. I made water catch trays and shelves in grow tents and painted them with elastomeric...
Nice, is it constructed with wood with sliding glass doors? What did you paint the inside with (to deal with moisture)? I've tried elastomeric paint (those used for roof painting), but now I'm trying Drylok.
Good to know. Was it still usable?
Which LEDs did you use? I haven't done a comparison, but I believe Bridgelux came out with Gen2 of EB series strips late last year.
As a related note, at the bottom of this page, Bridgelux mentions the comparison of photon efficiency (micromol/J). I'm not...
This small-scale grow light maker is closing-out. Everything is 50% off.
They have Vero 29 Gen 7, pre-drilled pin-fin heatsinks, Meanwell drivers. All good stuff for amazingly low price. They still have a couple pre-assembled grow light fixture, too.

Postimage has a similarly simple interface.

But with several of these services, you don't have a control over licensing. I didn't find any info about imgbb.com, but here is one from imager (link):
By uploading a file or other content or by making a comment, you...
Thank you very much, DJ! I've been wondering how much seaweed extracts people are applying with MaxSea. I don't have it because I prefer a complete fertilizer (with Ca and Mg). But based on your measurement, I can probably guess the concentration of seaweed in MaxSea (I'll need to do some...
Good info, Loki. You switched red vs blue, I think. In the relative spectral power distribution (SPD), shorter wavelength (left) is blue. So cooler color (high K) has more blue and less red. Also, people should note that Y-axis in this graph is relative. For each corrected color temperature...
That's a good size! You can make 2 shelves or 3 shelves. I don't know if they have made any progress, but I personally would avoid Mars LEDs (but I'm sure it works ok if your electricity isn't too high). They used to be pretty inefficient, and not durable. If you put enough of those, you'll...
Good to know (although I still have quite a bit of H stocked up)! Q is about 10% more efficient, so H-series with lower price could be a better deal (especially with the coupon, it could be the cheapest and highest performing LEDs). Nominal current of Q is 450mA, with Meanwell, 500mA is the...
