x ventrata or not, I love seeing a lowe's rescue. :D
Not that I think all Lowe's/Home Depot plants need to be rescued...but every now and then I will add one or two to my tanks just to see the fun of a sad plant get better with the better conditions at my place.
Heya Seedjar, I am fairly certain I remember you from my early more active days around here. :D
These days, my habit has been to get all active come fall through winter then when spring really begins somehow I don't make time for the site. It all must be that I get my plant fix here when I...
Hey man!
How goes gemmae production? I have one plant that has died back but I think the green in the center is gemmae. I haven't popped them out yet because I need to prepare some soil to grow them in. My setup this year proved difficult to keep the TOP soil soft and moist for the gemmae. Too...
Hey man!
So I have been crazy busy since March. I lead photography workshops teaching Milky Way Photography and I have been gone two weeks about of every month since March!
My plants have been watered and barely appreciated these past few months! I have some plants with their live sphagnum...
Pinguicula laueana
My Pinguicula laueana is looking great right now and I am sure the upcoming flower will really add to its beauty. 😃
As you can see, the plant has really grown red in my lights. 😃
I have a recent shot of my laueana! It’s not a great shot but I have a new one coming in that will give me a chance at a better image.
As you can see, the plant has really grown red in my lights. 😃
Excited to see the pictures you can upload when you get a chance!
Too bad your shelves are away from easy viewing! I grow mine in an open air with the tray method for watering. It is VERY satisfying to see my plants often :D If you can do it, I say get a 5-tier shelf setup somewhere you are...
And yet...that didn't work for the tokaiensis...wow! I am surprised unless it was just too much direct sun.
Wonder if mine will bite the dust within the year too. So far, it looks perfectly happy and about to open the flowers or as has been pointed out, most likely NOT open the flowers. We...
Oh wow! As mass produced and careless as these kind of big box store plants can be I didn’t think they would be that bad!
You’d think having an active growth point is an obvious requirement to selling them...
Third Witness:
VERY VERY Intermittent. Here in Utah, it is mostly Venus flytraps, Nepenthes ventrata and Sarracenia purpurea.
This was at my Lowes just last week:
They come from Gubler's Orchids typically and I have found Drosera adelae, D. capensis, Nepenthes ventrata and Sarracenia...
haha true that! I am curious if we have footage anywhere of gemmae distribution happening in nature. Could be a neat thing to put on my videography bucket list. :D
