    Just went to the facebook page of Sam Estes and this is the heartbreaking news i read..******* Nursery has brought us some highly treasured Nepenthes over the years. This is so sad to hear. My heart goes out to them.

    That's because it's the first pitcher on a small cutting i received last year...almost lost it this winter but it came back with new leaves this spring and this is the first pitcher its produced. The cutting is labeled Rafflesiana, Dark - West Kalimantan.....it's from Sunbelle Exotics

    I have only had it a year, and it hasnt even started the vining stage yet. From what i read, i heard, nobody has ever seen Ron Determan produce a spike, so there is no confirmation of whether its a male or female clone. i just grow mine for the copious amounts of large, tubby (and long lasting)...
