Digitalis laevigata

I like to grow plants that are beneficial to bees, hoverflies etc. This is one of them. I grew them on in pots until the spring and planted them out in the garden. I thought I'd lost them to the slugs and snails, which have been particularly voracious this year, but MrsG pointed them out this afternoon.

We know they're not carnivorous but the upper flowers certainly try to give the impression they are.

Very neat. They look kind of like bass fish from the side. :) I used to grow for butterflies when I was in Indiana(milkweed, bee balm etc.)

Fred you are one of the coolest growers I have seen on this form! All your plants are truly amazing!
These flowers look like they're sticking their tongue at you going "na na na".

Yeah, Fred has some amazing stuff. Those flowers look more like Audrey two to me though.
