Growing watermelon

I think i have bad luck with Watermelon, does somebody knows how to cultivate them correctly (Light, humidity, Soil. Fertilizing, temp..) im specially interested in Carolina Cross Watermelons (Yes the HUGE ones)

Having grown them only once very long ago, I seem to remember that they need lots of water. They don't like being transplanted. Other than that

They need fertilizer and A LOT of water.
